Does Realtor Experience Matter?
Of course, experience matters when you’re looking to hire a professional, especially a realtor. But keep in mind that years of experience doesn’t necessarily equate to levels of experience.
For example, you’re interviewing two realtors. One of them has 10 years of experience, and one of them has 5 years of experience. Now, the person that has 10 years seems like they’re going to be the best fit to help you sell your own home, but you’re going to learn that this 10-year realtor may only sell about two homes per year, while the 5-year realtor may have been selling about 20 homes per year.
So keeping that in mind, the 5-year realtor probably has better expertise and more knowledge about real estate just because they’ve been selling more homes. And then if you add on that this realtor knows a lot because they like to learn and stay up-to-date on what’s going on in the market and their industry, they’re probably going to be the best fit compared to that 10-year realtor. So be sure to ask the right questions when you’re hiring someone.
