Hey, everyone. Just want to take a few minutes today to discuss with you about if you’re thinking about selling your home and you’re worried about the security of your home because you still live in the home while you’re getting it sold, now, in Michigan, we have the more secure lockboxes. So you can alleviate some of that stress and worry. So basically, if you’re familiar right now, a lot of times people are using the lockboxes where there’s a code combination. And there’s been some issues happening where some agents who not to say that they’re lazy, but they are basically giving their clients the lockbox codes so they can view the house and just have them on video so they can show that they were at the house and everything like that and then write an offer and the agent was never there.
And the big thing is that, first of all, that’s not what should be happening. And basically what happens is the clients now have the code to the house. So basically, they can go in the house at any time, which is a big concern. So we now have launched the electronic lockboxes, where it’s very much more secure. So basically, the agent has to have the app.
They have to be within a certain radius from the house in order to even access the house, and it now tracks whenever they were actually at the house. So it’s almost impossible for a client to pretty much do what they call a virtual showing, which is what we discussed before. I mean, they’d have to have their login, password and everything for this new system. They’d have to have the app. And basically, you can’t really run the system on more than one device.
So in reality, it’s almost impossible to (have the issues we were having because a realtor would have to) pretty much just give their client their phone in order to do so. And who would have that much trust to give someone their phone, especially as a Realtor, you need your phone at all times. And if they’re willing to give their phone, they might as well be at the showing, right? So it alleviates that problem, you’ll know, when they’re there.
And then if for some reason the realtor doesn’t use electronic lockboxes, there’s a way for us to allow them to still use it. So it’s a lot more security for your home, even more secure for the agents all around. It’s a great plan. So if you’re worried about that happening because you’re still living in your home while you’re selling it, this should help with all those problems. If you have any more questions about it, just leave a comment below, or you can email me at [email protected].
All right, thanks, everyone. Have a good one. Bye.
