Should You Change The Locks After Buying A House?
When buying a house, it’s essential that when you close or when you get the keys from the seller to go ahead and change the locks. Because the reality is, even though the seller may have given you all the keys from their knowledge, it could be by just a mistake that they kept the key or someone somewhere else actually has a key.
And the last thing you want is to move into your new home and then find out that someone has broken into the house with the keys that they already had. And the same thing would be as if you are selling a home and you had a previous tenant or someone else in the property before, you want to go ahead and change your locks as well to prevent them from coming back in when they shouldn’t be there.
