What Are The Disadvantages of HOA?
What are the positive and negatives of buying a home where you have a homeowner’s association which is also known as HOA? Well for the most part, when you have a homeowner association you don’t have to worry about all the maintenance of the home.
For a true HOA you don’t have to worry about anything on the outside- cutting the grass, snow removal and common area maintenance which is pretty much areas that all homeowners just kind of share.
Some of the negatives are going to be is that your HOA fees could go up and you could have some surprise special assessments such as if you need a new roof because you share the complex, there may be a special assessment that you have to pay over a certain period of time to cover your roof but at any rate you don’t have to pay for the whole roof.
